AEON CO. (M) BHD. recently
kicked off its Environment Day celebrations at the eco-friendly
AEON AU2 Shopping Centre. The celebration was held in conjunction
with the internationally recognized World Environment Day which
falls on 5 June 2009.
As one of the companies pushing for greener initiatives in
Malaysia, AEON was very keen on celebrating this important
day together with surrounding members of the community. The
main objective for conducting this event was to create awareness
and educate the local community on the importance of preserving
the environment for future generations, in turn fulfilling
AEON’s commitment as a good corporate citizen.
The main attractions at the event were the gigantic indoor
eco-tunnel and the magnificent chandelier made of recycled
plastic materials. Customers could walk into the indoor eco
tunnel where they could learn about various facts and tips
on how to preserve the environment. The chandelier that was
constructed out of recycled plastic material was set up as
an inspirational piece to spectators on the hidden potential
of ordinary recyclable material and how it could be used to
create works of art.
Customers attending the event were treated to a spectacle
of fun-filled activities and events which included Documentary
Screening, Eco Quiz & Games, Angklung Performance, Live
Band Performance and Organic Cooking Demonstrations. During
the event, children from Krista Kindergarten (Bukit Antarabangsa,
Taman Cendana & Taman Setiawangsa) charmed their way into
the audiences’ hearts with their charming performance
that depicted their love for Mother Nature.
